This is the perfect class to take if you are curious about polymer clay tilemaking and/or the tempered glass mosaic technique.
It's a great beginner-level class that gives you a taste of what it's like to work with polymer clay, and tempered glass. You will make a small mixed-media piece that incorporates your metallic tiles with a sparkling background made of tempered glass. Click on Watch Promo above to view a glimpse into the style and format of this workshop. It contains tons of info via 6 short videos focused on my maker hands making, shaping, cutting tiles, adhering glass, and getting into all sorts of creative shenanigans. The class also contains a thorough supply list along with purchase links as well as an opportunity for you to post any questions, comments, and pics of your own work throughout the curriculum.
I've been creating mosaic art and teaching mosaic workshops for about 10 years now. My artwork has been in many exhibitions over the years, including most recently the annual prestigiious Crocker Kingsley (2019) and a couple times in Mosaic Art International (Navy Pier, Chicago and Museum of Man, San Diego). Several publications have featured my work including the cover of a college textbook, several how-to mosaic books, the blog Polymer Clay Daily, and magazines like Mosaic Art Now and Polymer Arts.
My first workshop was a community college class where we learned how to make a stepping stone. From there, I've taken many many courses from mosaic artists around the globe. I have taught classes internationally as well.
I really hope you enjoy my classes!
